Shipping and Delivery

We assist with packaging and preparing your order for shipment and use reliable shipping companies across New Zealand.

If Arch House New Zealand arranges delivery, it is doorstep delivery to ground level only unless otherwise agreed in writing. Additional handling or relocation is the customer’s responsibility. This does not affect your rights under New Zealand law.

Refunds and Returns

Our custom-built products are made to order for your requirements, so we do not offer returns or refunds simply because you change your mind. This does not limit any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable New Zealand law.

If a product is faulty, damaged in transit, or significantly different from what was agreed, please contact us. We will assess the issue and provide the remedy required by law. Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement, or a refund. A product being custom-made does not remove your statutory rights.

  • Please inspect your order upon delivery and report any visible damage or concern as soon as reasonably possible. Reporting within 24 hours helps us investigate transport damage, but missing that period does not remove your legal rights.
  • If an item arrives damaged, send us photos and details as soon as you can so we can investigate and make a claim with the carrier where appropriate.
  • Damage caused by alterations, misuse, or modifications after delivery may not be covered. This does not affect remedies for issues for which Arch House New Zealand is responsible under applicable law.
  • We will discuss any return arrangements and costs with you in accordance with your rights under New Zealand law.

Payments

  • A 50% deposit is required to confirm your order. Your lead time commences from the date your deposit is received.
  • Paying 100% upfront places your order in our priority queue and may reduce production time by up to two weeks. Any estimated time remains subject to confirmation for your order.
  • Full payment must be received before collection or delivery.
  • If payment is overdue, we will contact you about the outstanding balance. Any applicable late payment charge must be agreed with you in writing in advance and be reasonable and lawful.
  • Once your products are ready, please arrange collection within a reasonable time. If collection is delayed, Arch House New Zealand may discuss a reasonable storage fee with you and will give you written notice of the fee before it applies.

Privacy Policy

When you place an order, we collect personal information needed to process and deliver your products. This may include your full name, email address, delivery or business address, and contact number.

We use this information to communicate with you, process payment, fulfil your order, and arrange delivery. We may share information with service providers such as payment processors and delivery companies where necessary for these purposes, and as otherwise permitted or required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

Material Disclosure

Unless otherwise specified in writing, clients acknowledge and accept that approximately 98% of the material used in the manufacturing of our products consists of MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard). MDF is our standard and primary manufacturing material due to its consistency, durability, smooth finish, and suitability for premium painted and custom-designed products. While MDF offers many advantages for cabinetry and furniture manufacturing, clients should also be aware that MDF can be more susceptible to moisture damage if exposed to excessive water or humidity over time, may be heavier than some alternative materials, and does not have the natural grain appearance or structural characteristics of solid timber.

Should any alternative material be used, including but not limited to solid timber, plywood, veneer, engineered timber products, or any other material variation, this will be clearly specified and confirmed in writing prior to manufacturing or supply. In the absence of such written confirmation, all products are deemed and understood to be manufactured primarily from MDF.

About MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard)

MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) is an engineered wood product manufactured by compressing fine wood fibers with resin and wax under high temperature and pressure. It is widely used in the furniture and joinery industry due to its smooth surface, structural consistency, stability, and excellent paint finish capabilities.

Unlike natural timber, MDF does not contain visible knots, grain variations, or natural imperfections, making it ideal for precision manufacturing, routed profiles, decorative finishes, painted cabinetry, reception desks, feature panels, and custom furniture applications. MDF also provides a cleaner and more uniform finish compared to many natural timber products.

Standard MDF is designed primarily for indoor use and should not be exposed to excessive moisture, direct water contact, or prolonged outdoor conditions unless otherwise treated or specified. Minor expansion, swelling, or surface changes may occur if exposed to moisture or humidity beyond recommended conditions.

As MDF is an engineered product made from compressed wood fibers, slight surface movement, minor joins, paint line visibility, or natural manufacturing tolerances may occasionally be present and are considered standard characteristics of the material rather than defects. Proper care and maintenance will help ensure long-term durability and performance of MDF products.
